Tom Trinder believes in making his organic dairy farm as environmentally friendly as possible, and it may be one of the few in the country to combine renewable wind power, robotic milkers and organic dairy farming. Tom began grazing his herd in 1992 and was certified as organic in 2006. “I did not make the decision to go organic based on price,” Tom says. “I made up my mind that I was going to make it so our products are safe.”

Our company-owned farms

Located in Idaho and Maryland, our two company-owned farms contribute about 6% of our overall milk supply. But providing delicious organic milk is just one important job of our dairies. We are organic pioneers, helping to promote industry-leading best practices in animal care and land rejuvenation.

Our Idaho farm

Certified organic in 1994, our farm in Paul, ID was one of the first organic dairies in the country. The practices pioneered here proved the viability of organic dairying, and paved the way for hundreds of other dairies to convert to organic. By following organic practices, our Idaho farm helps prevent millions of pounds of pesticides, herbicides and fertilizer from entering the environment every year.
